> Summer course French language and theatre: from 04 to 21 July 2011
Development of French language skills, in connection with the Theatre Festival of Avignon. From beginner to advanced level.

> Fees 2011

A1 level (beginner): €480

Other levels : €530 for students / €630 for other applicants.

> Student profile

To assess your level, please refer to the global scale of the Common European Language Framework (CELF).

> Description

>> French language courses: 30 hours
Students are tested then placed into groups depending on their level (A1 to C1).
Both oral and written skills are covered, after a needs analysis based on the initial placement test.
A range of communicative activities, connected with the Theatre Festival, are carried out: vox pops, interviews, creative writing which can lead to the production and edition of a newspaper etc.

>> Theatre workshop: 15 hours
Voice and movement, improvisation, then work from text. The workshop leads to a  performance, which concludes the course.

>> French theatre history: 5 hours (for intermediate-advanced levels only)
In connection with the shows planned in the theatre programme.

>> Meetings with theatre and performing arts professionals.

>> Theatre programme:
5 shows from the IN and OFF festivals (4 shows for A1 level)

>> Visits and excursions:
-    Guided tour of Avignon
-    Visit of the Palace of the Popes and Pont d'Avignon
-    Backstage of the Cour d'Honneur du Palais des Papes (to be confirmed)
-    One day excursion (to be determined)

> Validation
Course completion certificate.

4 ECTS credits ( ECTS = European Credit Transfer System) for A1 level.

6 ECTS credits for other levels.

> Accommodation
The CUEFA can help you find accommodation (in student residences or with host families). Please note that demand for accommodation in Avignon is high in July, therefore it is necessary to start inquiring long before the start of the course.
